Appfigures alternatives
Appfigures has been the indie developer's dashboard since 2009 — a New York company, bootstrapped by every account, started by two brothers to kill the daily ritual of pulling iTunes Connect sales reports by hand. Link App Store Connect and Google Play and it turns downloads, revenue, subscriptions, and ad income into one clean report; its download estimates are widely quoted by the tech press. In 2026 it went agentic too: an open-source CLI whose af mcp command runs a local MCP server for Claude Desktop, Cursor, and friends.
So why search for an alternative? Usually one of three reasons. The ASO slice — keyword ranks, research, competitor listings — is a bonus module there, not the product. Public competitor data costs extra on top of the subscription, billed in prepaid credits. And the agent story assumes a local Node process logged into your account. openaso comes at the same store from the public side — a different job, and this page is honest about which one you actually need.

When Appfigures is the right answer
If the job is your own portfolio's numbers — sales, subscriptions, MRR, ad revenue, UA spend, review replies — linked straight from App Store Connect and Google Play, Appfigures is the indie-friendly way to get it, and nothing openaso does replaces that: openaso never touches account data. Same verdict if you need download estimates or Google Play coverage — openaso has neither.
When you don't need it
If what you actually open is the search side — where you rank per storefront, what people type, what a keyword is worth, whether your metadata spends its character budgets well — that data is public and needs neither an account link nor a credit meter. openaso serves it free from Apple's endpoints as a hosted MCP server and CLI built for agents, with Apple's real Search Ads popularity where Apple carries a signal and labeled independent estimates where it doesn't.

Questions people actually ask
How much does Appfigures cost?
Five self-serve tiers as of July 2026, from Connect at $9.99/mo to Amplify at $1,399.99/mo (annual billing saves 20%), each including 5 apps with extras at $1.99. Public and competitor data is separate: a paid add-on billed in prepaid credits at 2–15 credits per request, with credit-pack prices not published. Numbers move; verify on their pricing page.
Does Appfigures have a free plan?
No free plan as of July 2026 — there is a no-card trial with the Optimize tier's features. The API has a free daily allotment for apps you already track, but public data needs the paid add-on. For a genuinely free path to the public ASO slice — ranks, suggestions, demand, audits — openaso is 500 tool calls a day.
Does Appfigures have an MCP server?
Yes. Its open-source CLI (@appfigures/cli, v1.0 in June 2026) includes af mcp, a local stdio MCP server that exposes the CLI's app-intelligence commands to Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other clients. It runs on your machine (Node 22+), signed in to your Appfigures account, and public estimates require a paid plan with the public-data add-on. openaso's MCP server is the opposite shape: hosted, public data only, and a key mints in a minute.
Can openaso replace Appfigures?
Only on the search side. If Appfigures is your sales and subscription reporting or your source of download estimates, keep it — openaso does neither, on purpose. Teams whose Appfigures habit was really the keyword tab can move that workflow to openaso free, and plenty will sensibly run both.
if the free slice is your slice
openaso is free in early access — 500 tool calls a day, no card. Connect it to Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client, or call the JSON API directly.
